September 23, 2024 By Gaby Adam

I could easily write a 20-page blog that discusses common mistakes when working with the media to generate media coverage for a company or product. There are so many potential pitfalls to avoid and each could be described in great detail with countless examples of things I have seen happen over the years. Consider this post just a few pointers in brief form.  [ Read More ]

Old Work Stuff Can Be Quite Nostalgic

September 6, 2023 By Gaby Adam

Old work stuff can be quite nostalgic. On a recent staycation, I went through a bunch of boxes of work stuff hidden in the basement. Here is some of what I found: Stacks and stacks of old-school media coverage books for products I led the PR on. There were thick ones for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Money, RealNetworks, Avenue A (which became aQuantive), InfoSpace and more.  [ Read More ]

Brief Report on the GeekWire Summit

October 11, 2019 By Gaby Adam

I recently attended the two-day GeekWire Summit in Seattle. It was well worth my time and great to hear what some of the biggest names in the Seattle tech industry had to say. For full coverage of the speeches, go to GeekWire. One thing that was said multiple times throughout the conference was to take risks and don’t be afraid to fail. Cheers to that! Below (and above) are some photos I took. There were many more speakers, but this will give you a feel for it.  [ Read More ]

Seattle: A Passionate Place

February 17, 2016 By Gaby Adam

Seattle makes me proud. The people are top-notch, the scenery is breathtakingly spectacular and the businesses are stellar. Some of the most amazing, often world-changing, companies started here, including Microsoft Corporation, Boeing, Amazon, Expedia, Starbucks, Alaska Airlines and REI. I have used products and services from each of them, many times. Other impressive ones have, at some point, moved their headquarters here, such as Holland America Line.  And new businesses are following in their footsteps—companies that focus on space, robotics, exploration and virtual reality.  [ Read More ]
